Ukrainian and International Analysts to Gather in Riga for the 3rd Ukraine Reality Check

On April 16, the 3rd Ukraine Reality Check, a peer review process comprised of top Ukrainian and international analysts, observers and practitioners, to be held in Riga, Latvia.

The upcoming event will focus on situation in eastern Ukraine, politics after the Minsk II agreement, economic trends and the results of Ukraine’s key reforms. Among the speakers are members of Ukrainian Parliament, high level European diplomats, representatives of OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine and European Commission’s Support Group for Ukraine, political science scholars from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Moscow State Institute of International Relations and Vilnius University, as well as economic experts and business representatives from Ukraine and the EU countries. The event is organized by the Eastern Europe Studies Centre (Lithuania) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Centre for Eastern Studies (Poland), Centre for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Democracy (Hungary), Central European Policy Institute (Slovakia) and Pact (US) with a support of the International Visegrad Fund and the European Endowment for Democracy.

The Ukraine Reality Check events are being held since 2013, first under the aegis of Lithuania’s EU Presidency (July–December 2013) and now under Latvia`s EU Presidency (January-June 2015). The purpose of the process is to gather insights from Ukrainian top domestic and international analysts, practitioners, diplomats and policy-makers to satisfy demand for a more in-depth policy in Ukraine and achieve evidence-based and balanced policy advice.
