On May 24th, the 5th Ukraine Reality Check was held in Kyiv, Ukraine.  Organized by EESC, the event was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia with programmatic contribution from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

The Ukraine Reality Check events are an integral part of the Eastern Partnership Reality Check policy review process, which aims to gather insights from top domestic and international analysts, practitioners, diplomats and policy-makers covering Eastern Partnership countries in order to discuss these countries’ realities behind closed doors. It has the ambition to satisfy demand for a more in-depth policy in this area. The first two Ukraine Reality Checks were held in Kyiv (June 2013 and October 2014), while the third one took place in Riga under the aegis of Latvia’s EU presidency (April 2015). In 2016, the 4th Ukraine Reality Check returned to Kyiv.

The 5th Ukraine Reality Check included panel discussions on following topics: Ukraine’s (geo)politics, update on the security situation in Donbass, economic (in)stability and reform review. For more information, please, see the agenda here.
