Discussion “Testimony on Russia and its Civil Society: Nowadays Challenges and Future Perspectives” was held in Vilnius

On December 14 a discussion Testimony on Russia and its Civil Society: Nowadays Challenges and Future Perspectives” was held at the Eastern Europe Study Center (EESC).

The discussion focused on the most recent political processes in Russia, including the upcoming Presidential elections, the numerous challenges Russia’s civil society faces today and possible ways, if any, the liberal democratic world could help it overcoming them. The relationship between Russia and the West, including the wide range of hybrid threats that come from Russia and the resilience building efforts by the West, as well as sanctions, were also  touched during the discussion.

The discussion included Mr. Vladimir Kara-Murza, ViceChairman of “Open Russia”, Mr. Vsevolod Chernozub, Director of the Alexander Herzen Foundation, Dr. Vilius Ivanauskas, Senior Policy Analyst at the Eastern Europe Studies Centre and Mr. Marius Laurinavičius, Senior Analyst at the Vilnius Institute for Policy Analysis. The event was moderated by Ms. Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė, Columnist, former Editor-in-Chief at DELFI.
