Invitation to register for the Vilnius Young Leaders Meeting discussion cycle

Oct 8, 2020 | 2020, News

The Eastern Europe Studies Centre (EESC) is once again organising the annual project Vilnius Young Leaders Meeting (VYLM), which has earned international recognition. This year, we are changing its format and inviting citizens from Eastern Partnership countries living in Lithuania and the expert community to join in!

This year’s VYLM will be a two-day cycle of expert discussions, which will gather well known Lithuanian experts. They will assemble to share their insights and knowledge regarding the problems Lithuania and the Eastern Partnership countries face in the security, disinformation and independent news media domains. VYLM seeks to gather a wide spectrum of motivated young leaders and experts who wish to obtain knowledge and competences in analytical thinking and delve deeper into key challenges that the Eastern Partnership countries are confronted with. During the event, we will also be dedicating significant attention to Belarus and the ongoing protests within this country. The discussion cycle is an excellent opportunity to meet live with experts and pose questions to them on issues you are interested in regarding the future of this region’s development.

There are no restrictions for registering to VYLM and we particularly invite to register Eastern Partnership country citizens living in Lithuania who are interested in this topic. We would like to emphasise that due to safety requirements, event registration is required for all participants. You can register to the event by filling in THIS FORM. The number of registration slots is limited.

The event will be held on November 4-5 in Vilnius’ Hilton Garden Inn hotel’s Kušiai-Sėliai hall at Gediminas avenue 44B. The precise time and programme for the meetings will be emailed to registered participants. During the discussions, all participants will also have access to live synchronous translation in Lithuanian and English.

Participants will be offered coffee, snacks and a light lunch throughout the event.

The meeting is organised by the Eastern Europe Studies Centre and DELFI. The event is supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (USA), the Swedish Institute and the Swedish Embassy in Vilnius.
